St. James Episcopal Church

A welcoming, caring, and imperfect community of progressive Christians in the heart of Cincinnati’s west side

St. James is located at 3207 Montana Avenue (SW corner of Montana and Cheviot Aves.), across the street from the Gamble-Nippert YMCA.

Our weekly service schedule

Sunday

10 a.m. – Holy Eucharist, In-person and also on YouTube or Facebook Live. Professional childcare provided.

Masks are currently optional. If you are not comfortable attending in person, our services are also streamed on Facebook live. Either way, we hope you will join us!

St. James is a welcoming, caring and imperfect community

What does that mean?

It means that no matter who you are, or who you love, where you come from, you’re welcome here. We celebrate diversity of race, economic status, political belief, cultural background, gender identity and sexual orientation.

At St. James, we express our faith in the Episcopal tradition—which means that while our services are rooted in ancient liturgical rituals, we are a progressive and faithful community of followers of Jesus that welcomes your questions and doubts.

And it means that sometimes, we mess up. But as a loving community, we strive to recognize each person as a child of God and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Our Vision

We seek to live into Christ’s teachings to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We do this by:

Celebrating

and sharing God’s love through scripture, music, reflection and communion

Connecting

with our greater community through effective communication and compassionate care

Reaching out

and engaging those around us as an active, supportive, collaborative and welcoming neighbor

Sharing

our treasures of time, talent and space with our neighborhood

Connect with us!
