Acolytes – Guys and gals, young and old, carry the cross, Gospel Book & torches into worship each week, as well as assisting on the altar. No previous experience is required, and training is provided.

Altar Guild – The Altar Guild prepares and clean ups the altar before and after weekly worship services. Preparation usually entails 30-minutes on a Friday or Saturday morning and 15-minutes after services. Both men and women are welcome.

Bread Guild – Members of this guild bake our communion bread for worship, and if you’ve attended our worship, you can attest to its tastiness! Almost no effort is necessary, just a love for baking!

Lay Eucharistic Ministers – Adult men and women scheduled on a regular basis to read the lessons (lay reader), offer the community’s prayers (intercessor), and administer the chalice at weekly worship services. Training is provided.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors – Lay Eucharistic Visitors take Communion to home bound parishioners. Training is provided by the Diocese of Southern Ohio.

Sunday School – Sunday School is offered weekly during 10:00 a.m. worship. Activities involve an engaged Bible Study, craft and coloring activities, and fun games to make the message of the Bible come alive. Children return to their parents for communion and remain there throughout the rest of worship.

Ushers and Greeters – Parishioners greet Sunday churchgoers as the enter the church and assist in the distribution of offering plates and the line-up for communion. Both men and women welcome.

Alcoholics Anonymous – St. James hosts AA meetings held every Friday evening at 7:30 p.m in the Vestry Room.

Narcotics Anonymous – St. James hosts NA meetings held every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Childcare is provided in the Nursery.

Prayer Chain & Prayer List – A network of parishioners who offer intercessory prayers for parishioners and others with special needs. This network is conducted primarily by e-mail and in our weekly bulletins.

N or M Club – The $20 question is… what does “N or M” mean? And the $20 answer is… nobody knows! What is known is that this social group began in 1940 (!) and has been having meals together on the third Wednesday of every month at various local restaurants. Members of the group rotate choosing the restaurant each month. All members and friends are welcome to attend. The only requirement is that you like to have a good time!

Procter Summer Camp – Summer camps at Procter are one of the highlights of any kid’s summer! Procter Center is a retreat and conference center located in London, OH that is operated by the Diocese of Southern Ohio. Each year, they offer a slate of exciting and engaging summer camps for children and youth of all ages, as well as gatherings for families throughout the year. http://dsoyouth.org/procter-summer-camp/
